RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially released the RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026 notification for 60 vacancies across General, DEPR, and DSIM streams. RBI Grade B is considered one of the most prestigious regulatory body examinations in India due to its high salary, excellent work-life balance, policy-making exposure, and fast career growth.

Candidates selected as RBI Grade B Officers receive an initial monthly salary of approximately ₹1.55 lakh along with multiple allowances and benefits. The recruitment process consists of Phase I, Phase II, and the interview stages.

Eligible candidates can apply online from April 29 to May 20, 2026, through the official RBI website.

  • Relaxation for Higher Qualifications & Experience – Candidates with specific academic backgrounds or professional experience are eligible for additional relaxation:
    • M.Phil. Holders: Upper age limit is 32 years.
    • Ph.D. Holders: Upper age limit is 34 years.
    • Banking Experience: Candidates with experience as an officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks, Public Sector Insurance Companies, or All India Financial Institutions (AIFI) get relaxation equal to their years of experience.
      • Maximum Limit: 3 years.
      • Overall Cap: The total age must not exceed 33 years.
    • Research/Teaching Experience (DEPR/DSIM only): Relaxation to the extent of years of experience, up to a maximum of 3 years.

  • Cumulative Relaxation: Cumulative age relaxation is only available to SC/ST/OBC candidates who also fall under the Ex-servicemen or PwBD categories. No other combinations are allowed
  • Ex-Employees: Up to 5 years relaxation for ex-employees of banking institutions whose services were terminated for economic reasons or liquidation.
  • Staff Candidates: Eligible RBI staff candidates receive relaxations as per specific internal RBI circulars.
  • Expert Tip: You must possess the valid category/experience certificates dated on or before May 20, 2026, to claim these relaxations.

Important Instructions:
  • There will a sectional and overall cut-off in Phase I examination and marks obtained here are not added to the final merit list.
  • In Descriptive Type papers, answers are to be typed with the help of the keyboard.
  • All question papers (in both the Phases, except the test of English) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.
  • Candidate may opt for Interview either in Hindi or English.
  • Candidates must complete a pre-interview personality assessment. This is non-graded and won’t affect final selection
